Dusk in the Mountains

Silhouetted by the evening sky, one peak distinguishes itself among the rest in a mountain range veiled in violet by the dusk's fading light.

On a trip last summer to Colorado, my family and I stayed in a cabin south of the San Juan Mountains with a picturesque view of Pagosa Peak, which was my inspiration for this build.

Referencing photos I had taken, I depicted the mountains using wedge plates stacked in three layers to create a sense of depth. Made of tiles graduating in hue from orange to light blue, the sky sits just below the frame while the hills in the foreground stick up just above, enhancing the 3D effect.
