Perseid Shower Weekend at Mont Mégantic

Last August, we made our first family road trip to visit the town of Lac-Mégantic for Perseid meteor shower.
We walked the path where the derailing accident took place, we read the stories of local heroes at the fire station, we visited a vibrant new town that a strong community has rebuilt and we enjoyed the nature (farm, national park, riverside, lake shore, etc.) as a family of four.
On the last day, we went to Astrolab and the observatory at Mont Mégantic. We learned about meteorites and my son was able to touch one! At night, we were lucky to have a clear sky. So, we lied on our back and let ourselves be surrounded by stars and shooting stars. It was just spectacular. One of my son fondest memories was seeing Saturn and its rings through the telescope.
He was so excited when I built this set. Not only that I brought his fond memory to live again, but this set will serve as a storyboard for him to share the memory of this trip with his baby brother in the future.
    Hope you like it.
