Spring in the Mountains

I actually live in a mountain log cabin. My favorite activity depends on the season of the year.

Spring brings new flowers (shown here are poppies, tulips, snow plant, lavender, and a mixture of wildflowers) along with new growth on the trees (shown here fir, jeffrey pine, and juniper) and new life (eggs in the eagle/bird nests as well as deers, rabbits, raccoons, and squirrels). The lake turns green in the spring due to the growth of algae in the water. It is time for a beautiful hike with my dog. I feel very safe with the ranger on patrol. But, one must be aware of the giant blooming yucca plant and fallen tree trunks.
