First Interstellar Expedition

Imagine what the first expedition outside of our Solar System would be. I think that this would be something like it would look like. The Centre section rotates (even on the stand) causing a spin that would mimic gravity, and a dish points backwards for communication back to Earth. Such a ship would power along for many years, decades, or even centuries, awaiting it's destination of Alpha Century, the nearest solar system to ours.
