Minifigure: Portal 928
On the distant planet of LEG-0, a team of brilliant scientists have just switched on an interplanetary teleportation device: Portal 928! Unfortunately, however, they forgot to include an off switch, not having anticipated the presence of hostile creatures on the other side!
This entry is based of LEGO's stellar (pun intended) Space theme. In fact, 928 is a reference to one of the most iconic Classic Space sets: the 928 Galaxy Explorer!
The story behind this scene is pretty much one big joke:
Naturally, the scientists freak out upon seeing huge green tentacles reaching through the portal; running around, knocking over beakers, pulling random wires out of the portal’s side in hopes of turning it off, and generally panicking. At the heart of the build, though, lies the punchline: The portal is plugged into an outlet (built from LEGO grill elements!) and, of course, nobody thought to unplug it!
Stuffed with cool techniques and fun details, this build will make an awesome display piece!
