Build: Two Headed Creepy Crawler (2HCC)
Welcome to my submission to the Robot Inventor contest. This is the Two Headed Creepy Crawler. As the name state: it’s a crawler. Due to the moveable, outer tracks, this crawler can overcome many obstacles. With the moveable tracks it can lift itself up to a higher level. At a certain point it has to approach objects from the back, lifting te main body up first. This depends off the hight of the obstacle.
The 2HCC has 3 motors. 2 main motors provide the drive for the tracks. The third motor provides the front tracks to rotate. The key to this is a turnable gear which provides rotation to the frame where the outer tracks are located in.
2HCC has 3 sensors. Two of them function as the two heads of the crawler; the infra-red and the ultrasonic sensors. The third touch sensor is optional. In a coming update I plan to make a color sensor as well. I’m also planning to render some small animations which I’ll post later on.
