Chronicles of the Persistence: First Solo Mission to Mars

Space traveler Charlotte Stargazer began her solo mission to Mars one year ago.  The Persistence proved a loyal and steadfast space craft, making the journey in record time.  However, upon hitting Mars's atmosphere, the landing gear of the craft malfunctioned.  Stargazer was forced to make a crash landing in the Mariner Valley, 200 miles from her projected landing site.  Within a week, our resourceful space traveler had constructed a land base from the wreckage of the Persistence and was able to salvage most of the mission equipment.  From the land base she has dubbed the Persistent Mars Touchdown, Stargazer will continue her mission while awaiting the arrival of her fellow space traveler Kymani Earthshine.  He will bring additional mssion supplies as well as provisions aboard his craft, The Eclipse.  Together they will continue to add to their Mars land base and expand their mission goals on the Red Planet.
