Working Model of Earth and Moon

Since the dawn of time, humans have looked at the heavens. In early days, they built mechanical devices to record where things moved, and that inspired me to create this model. It's a working mechanical device in which the moon orbits the Earth, both spinning in appropriate directions.

When the moon orbits, the large gear on the base causes the small gear on the base to rotate. This rotation is transfered by the golden gears to the Earth and moon causing them to rotate.
