The Observatory

Every great space mission starts on the ground. Before the space explorers exit the atmosphere, before they suit up, and before the rockets are built, there must be a plan. Those who venture into space do not do so without first getting guidance and learning about the upcoming adventure. It is the people on the ground that make these missions possible, and this Observatory model commemorates them and their efforts. Astronomers are those who look to the stars and prepare for the future of exploration knowing they likely will not be the ones who go onward and upward. Space travel would not be possible without them and their tools.
