The Galactic Center
Many consider a Black Hole's mass to be so strong it qualifies as the center of many major galaxies, fostering orbital connections between the vast stretches of our universe. Such is the case with M87's central black hole which had it's photo birth sparks in the minds of many in 2019.
To commemorate what we know, what we don't know and a black hole's ominous glow, I built a model to show off the features of black holes that inspired countless sci-fi movies, now proven to be less "fi" and more "sci".
My Model Includes:
- A slightly bent display stand, symbolizing the gravitational dent exerted by the black hole in space
- An orange event horizon consisting of orbiting plasma, pictured in a photo of M87's central black hole
- Plasma excreted from the black hole, based on hypotheses of it's end-destination
- orbiting stars (represented with 1x1 star pieces)
- orbiting star systems (represented with a blank MiniFigure head and cherry piece)
- Even a smaller orbiting black hole!
