Working Telescope
This is an updated version of my previous entry.
I’ve tweaked the main telescope design and added the minifigure stargazer and ‘scope.
As before, the large telescope is functional and uses minifigure magnifying glasses to produce a magnified and inverted image in the “eyepiece”. The telescope can rotate, elevate and be moved back and forth slightly to focus the image. It might lack the range of a real telescope but can be used to explore the section of “night sky” provided, which includes: stars, the Moon, planets (including a red-ringed yellow gas giant), a lost astronaut and giant space turtle! (In real life the image is much clearer than in the photo but that was the best I could get!)
The minifigure and small 'scope can be removed for display or play and the young stargazer can be customised using the male or female hair.
Overall, I think this makes an interesting and interactive display piece for any space fan.
The part count is roughly 220 plus the Minifigure.
Thanks for looking.
