Reading in the Clouds
"Whether up in the clouds,
or out on the sea,
wherever you're found,
may you always find time to read"
I was inspired to make a Hot Air Balloon, hoping to make something piece by piece instead of using the lovely curved panels. Idea after idea turned into this piece designed for the bookshelf, mantlepiece or wherever it would look best in your space.
The Balloon is hollow and held to the backdrop with technic parts, and the piece is made completely in Bricklink with no custom parts
I spent more time than I care to admit trying to make the digital flexible elements work, and by the time I got something I liked, I ultimately preferred the look of the burner and connection using technic angled bars over using strings or hoses.
Flying home from Melbourne last January inspired the purple clouds, and photos from plane helped design the backdrop.
The lady with curly hair is inspired by my lovely wife who always has her nose in a book.
