Balanced Rock

There are so many natural wonders to explore in the world. I am thankful to have seen a few of them. Some of them can be found in the Southwestern United States. The Balanced Rock in Arches National Park, Utah, looks as though it is defying gravity. Years ago I did a watercolor from a family photo of this scene. I couldn’t resist testing my skills on this second rendition. How fun it is to portray it in LEGO!

My memory, many years later, has the deep blue of the sky seared in it. I mixed my bricks to convey that contrast in the vivid colors that are found in that landscape.

One other aspect of the rock formation is that it appears sculpted in places. I really enjoyed the challenge of trying to replicate this characteristic.

Surrounding the rock formation is a 3/4 frame to set it off to mimic a photo.
