Tiddalik the Frog
My idea of what Afrofuturism means to me is an Australian aboriginal twist on it. Tiddalik is a Dreamtime story about a giant red frog that drinks up all the water and causes a drought. He was so big that his back touched the sky and he was so wide that he filled the gap between two mountains. Then all the animals try to make him laugh so he spills the water back onto the land. they all try but it doesn't work but then the eel tries really hard to get onto his bell and Tiddalik sees the eel and laughs so much that all the water comes spilling back. I have made a modern take on this build by putting a futuristic city in the background and adding a straw in Tiddalik's mouth. I have used dots to make the river in an Aboriginal style dot painting pattern.
