The Magical Creatures of the Black Lake

When I think of Harry Potter, I think about the Magical Creatures ever-present in the books and movies. One of the most notable of these creatures is the Giant Squid.

The Giant Squid lives in the Black Lake on the Hogwarts grounds and is often depicted playing with the students. The Giant Squid has appeared in all of the books except Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and none of the movies.

Living in the Black Lake alongside the Giant Squid are the Grindylows and Merpeople, who also appeared in the books and this build. The merpeople were first introduced in Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire as they were the protectors of ‘The Thing The Champions Would Sorely Miss’ and the Grindylows also appeared in the Goblet of Fire as an obstruction for the Champions in the Black Lake, but they first appeared in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Professor Lupin’s class.
