Same Lego, New Stories
My favorite thing about Lego is the same thing that keeps engaging new generations of builders: the possibilities of storytelling
At first when Lego made houses they were basic; primary colors, sloped roof pieces, functional shutters. And they were great!
But as Lego has expanded their palette & introduced new minifigs, shapes and, accessories they've expanded the possibility for representation & expression
I wanted to honor that with an homage to those classic homes but with people whose stories perhaps weren't being told when Lego was first making houses
There's Ahmad in the red house; he's a former teacher who loves gardening and reading books in his comfy armchair
Then there's Trish and Jasmine; they moved into their house after they got married and built an addition off the back when their son Oliver was born
Finally Ben; he’s a competitive racer and owns a small business repairing wheelchairs at home. He added a red racing stripe to his house cuz why not! :)
