Micro Shuttle Launch Pad
Hello!
This is a microscale version of 6339 - Shuttle Launch Pad.
In the modern age of reusable rockets, it might be time to think back a couple of decades—when the first ideas of a more economical space program materialized!
This set is a special childhood memory for me, and I still remember all the play functions vividly. So, I had to somehow translate the functional aspects of the original build into this microscale version.
By using 250 pieces and a little bit of creative freedom—especially regarding the physically totally feasible crane—I tried to recreate as many details of the original set as possible and achieve a contemporary look.
The use of rounded base plates for the overall footprint and a plethora of newer parts for those microscale functions and detailing were a blessing in this endeavor.
A few iterations were made to optimize for function, part count, and overall visual appeal.
I hope you like it.
Cheers!
(I used some extra parts within the animation for special effects.)
