Royal Joust

This set is a combination of my memories of two sets: 6095 Royal Joust and 10223 Kingdoms Joust. While I've never physically had them I've always been fascinated by them whenever I saw them in Lego catalogues.

I went with Lion Knight aesthetics and color scheme, for me it's super nostalgic and instantly recognizable.

The idea of this set is to depict a moment right before the actual "impact", which makes it a pretty nice display piece but also it's very play-able!

The ground is fairly simple, I've tried to recreate the look of an actual joust field with bright green plates for the grass which is on the "sides" and dark tan plates for where the grass have been trampled by the horses after many tournaments. Despite that there are a couple of flowers because life finds its' ways! I also really enjoyed making the throne for the king.

Also as in almost any medieval set you can find a sneaky rodent roaming around trying to steal a piece of cheese.

P.S. Did you find the frog(s)?
