Vending Machines
I had the Lego Town post office from 1982 and it was a fundamental part of my basic Lego town. I have inclued a commemorative plaque on the facade of my building to remember its past, but years have passed and all is different.
Online shopping has replaced in-person shopping, and companies are spending a lot of resources improving their online sales methods. This is why shipping companies are replacing post offices, depersonalizing a service that was once familiar and welcoming and is now increasingly becoming impersonal and as fast as possible.
Now there is a locker where people go to pick up their online orders.
The building has been reinvented and it has become a space filled with vending machines selling food andand drinks. There is no one to staff the counter anymore, because there is no counter. The place (managed by vending machines) is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Arrive, enter a code and pick up. These are the new times.
