Galaxy City Space Tuk-Tuk Chase
A mash-up of the classic Galaxy Explorer set and the Ninjago City Chase of the Ninjago Movie theme.
One of my first sets was the cute Space Buggy. I remember the grey air tanks on the front always falling off, made worse by me chewing on them. The Galaxy Explorer though was unobtainable, owned by the older brother of my best friend and we weren’t allowed to play with it.
Ninjago City Chase was one of the first sets I bought as an adult - mindblown by the richness, details, humor and world building of the Ninjago Movie sets. A contrast to the classic space men, who seemed quite alone in a rather empty universe, with little to do apart from measuring radiation and checking the radars.
The design of the space tuk-tuk is based on the fact that the standard lego tuk-tuk windshield doesn't exist in transparent yellow. This led to a lot snot technique and a cute vehicle containing almost as many bricks as the Galaxy Explorer space ship. Such a contrast to the simple builds of my childhood.
