Kei Fire Engine With Water Trailer
My first lego set (aside from duplo) was LEGO City set 7942, which was a small fire pickup truck with a trailer. This set put to mind the small classic fire engines of LEGO Town such as the Blaze Battler. I wanted to create a small but mighty fire engine with a trailer to follow on from those early LEGO Town engines but in a scale and with pieces commonly used in LEGO City now. I used some Japanese fire engines as inspiration as they are based on very small and compact kei truck chassis to navigate narrow streets but are still useful for fighting fires.
The model features: a rotating and articulating ladder; a fire hose with a large spool; storage for air tanks and cones; a small engine underneath a hatch in the bed; various tools; and a water bowser with connecting pipe.
