Classic Space: Exploration Shuttle
The first kit I remember receiving is the 6931 FX-Star Patroller. I built it so many times and loved playing all kind of stories in my head. I still own it today. My tribute to the whole Classic Space series takes the form of an Exploration Shuttle that flies travellers from a capital ship in orbit to the surface of newly found unexplored planets. In space there is no gravity, so up and down is a relative concept. I wanted to change the typical up/down direction in most Lego set and use the propulsion direction as up instead. Furthermore, my new obsession is with the symmetry of 3s. Those angles of 60 and 120 degrees are quite challenging to design in Lego. I think the result is novel, looks great while invoking the Classic Space theme quite well.
The landing legs can be deployed for landing and pivoted to their retracted position for space travel. Each of the 3 mini-figures have their own cabin.
