Ice Rescue & Medical Unit

"Ice Station's commander has been missing for 24 hours. Sending out the Ice Rescue & Medical Unit to find him. The commander has been discovered in the ice! No problem for our Ice Planet Explorers; using the thermal cutters to cut through the ice, the commander is free. Now to place the commander in the medical bay and send a signal back to base."

I loved the Ice Planet 2002 theme! I remember as a kid being so into creating stories set on planet Krysto that I put one of my Lego minifigs in the freezer's ice cube tray, my younger self not realizing that I would damage the plastic on the mini-fig. Oops.

Here is my safer attempt at capturing these stories. Using some inspiration from the ice pieces on my Peach's Cat Suit Tower set and the modular designs of the more modern space sets, this set features a two-part vehicle, with a cockpit and medical bay. The medical bay can be removed to reveal a satellite dish. A small hinge design allows the breaking of the ice to rescue the commander!
