A Merchant Ship for Pirates to Plunder

I have always wanted a merchant ship for my pirate Lego world. There was only one merchant ship sold which was part of the Imperial Trading Post (set 6277), which I could not afford as a kid (and still cannot afford as an adult). As such I have created my own version.

This ship has a cargo of fresh fruit, bread and fish, tools, a treasure chest, boxes, and a barrel full of ale (which may not make it to the next port knowing this crew!). There is a rat (if he deserts you know it’s time to abandon ship!), a parrot, and a monkey to round out the crew.

The sail proudly displays the number 90 in honour of Lego’s birthday. There are also golden love hearts to show the love my kids and I have for everything Lego, especially pirate themed.

The last photo shows the sail stowed for when the ship is in port loading (I was only going to build the merchant ship, but once I started I couldn't help myself and built a port to go with it, and we all know you can't have sails billowing in port).
