LEGO Augmented Reality
Would you like to duplicate your real world LEGO set as a virtual one?
Would you like to examine virtual LEGO sets at giant scale?
Would you like to see virtual LEGO in real world settings?
All this and more is possible when you combine LEGO Unity tool set with augmented reality!
This simple demonstration shows a proof of concept for some augmented reality applications. The one I did not have time to implement involves adding a transparent shader to the virtual model which is tracked to the real model's pose and can thus serve to occlude virtual objects as if by the real world counterpart.
[Development notes: I originally tried building augmented reality functionality into a WebGL build, but it did not function, so I made a game in which UI surfaces played back video of the augmented reality application. In case the WebGL client cannot play back video, I hope the attached videos give a good impression of what is possible.]
