Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind is an animation masterpiece written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki in 1984. Though released shortly before the official co-founding of Studio Ghibli, this film is often considered the first Ghibli work.
Like many of the Studio Ghibli films, every scene could be a stand alone piece of artwork. Not only beautiful to watch, its overarching themes covering the importance of nature and Earth stewardship act as an important message that couldn't be more relevant today.
The model depicts the valley where princess Nausicaa lives and includes the main castle, village, windmills, the crashed Tolmekian aircraft, two of the magnificent Ohm creatures, and of course Nausicaa on her glider.
I hope you enjoy and take a moment to imagine the wind in your hair, enveloping you with the sounds of the hills, sea and thriving nature.
