Base: Classic Space Outpost
There is no better way to create a space base than to pay homage to the infamous theme of classic space. Having grown up with many different lego themes, the space themes color palette and designs have always been an iconic look that spearheaded the LEGO company in its early days of LEGO bricks.
This build aims to catch that same feel, in a micro scale, so that it is an easily displayable reminder of LEGO roots, and their ever growing catalog of designs and themes. The design uses the classic palette of blue and light grays in order to create an instantly recognizable connection between this build of today, the designs of the past, and what LEGO has in store for the future.
This build uses 209 pieces with no overly complex building techniques. The 1st image shows how the displayed set would look if we were not constrained by gravity, and the 2nd photo shows the part 4042, which is used to hold up the micro spaceship.
