Form Over Function

For this contest I wanted to choose a LEGO element and use it in a new, unusual way. I decided to choose Technic rubber bands as they are normally only used in functional ways and give them a decorative aspect in the design.
The piece features a black and white base with contrasting studs in translucent primary colours that are iconic to the LEGO brand. It is decorated with Technic rubber bands in black and white which create layers of fine lines in a zigzag surface pattern.
