Aboriginal Style Dot Painting
I thought it would be interesting to try and use "dots" and break away from the rigid Lego stud grid.
At the same time I wanted to explore some of the earliest art in the world, which dates back over 30,000 years in Australia. Amazingly some still exists in the form of rock paintings - hand "prints" are common, which often represent territorial rights or membership of a particular group. "Maps" were drawn which utilise recurring symbols such as concentric circles (waterholes, camp-sites, trees, etc - the colour often depicting which), and wavy lines (the connections or paths between them). The colour palette is earthy and muted - pigments were made using the natural substances and minerals found locally.
Size = 66 x 66 studs
