The Blacksmith, a Poem by Billy the Bard
Billy thinks the vital work of a blacksmith is worthy of a poem! Even if he is not too sure how vital it actually is.
Since there were actual civilizations that lived without Iron (Mesoamerican ones), and some that had to deal with scarcity (Japan), I figured I would take that angle on "how would life be without a blacksmith". Turns out we would figure something out.
