A Tale of Two Knights (Who Suddenly Could Not Fight Properly Since There Was No Blacksmith Around)

Ah yes, the medieval times. A time of fighting and... well more fighting (as well as other things unrelated to this particular tale). But what would happen if there were no blacksmiths around? Would the medieval world descend into madness, anarchy, and a sudden rise of dragon related deaths? Or could something new blossom out of this non-blacksmith-inhabited earth?
