A lone alien has been charged with the task of investigating life on a far away planet. It arrives at earth in the year 1376 AD, and beams up a blacksmith from a rural town on the edge of a prosperous yet quarrelsome kingdom. As everything the blacksmith ever made vanishes, the town is attacked, and only the return of the blacksmith can save the inhabitants...
