Liberace (aka Mr. Showmanship) - An international Cultural Icon
Liberace (born Władziu Valentino Liberace, May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, entertainer, singer, and actor who is best known for his TV shows and appearances in Las Vegas where he put on smashy glitzy performances. He was in business for well over 4 decades.
Liberace may be shunned as an average, if not pathetic, musiciam, but it is to his credit that he made classical music accessible to the general audience, and his influence on highly regarded musicians such as Freddy Mecury, Elvis Presley, Elton John, Prince, and many more.has been tremendous and should not be underestimated.
This vignette (16x16 studs; mild overhang on the back side) shows Liberace on stage in one of his glitzy outfits.
