Radio TS 502
1:1 scale model of the famous radio originally designed by Marco
Zanuso and Richard Sapper in 1962, released to the market two years
later by the Italian company Brionvega.
The TS 502 - also
known as the "Cube" - is a world icon of industrial design
of the 1960s, which is exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in New
York. A true object of design, made up of two cubic plastic shells
that make it look like a bevel parallelepiped: when open, radio reception is active, while when closed it is at rest. Thanks to the comfortable handle, this design
object quickly became the symbol of portable radio all over the
world.
The model is as
accurate as possible, with all the details I managed to recreate with
Lego parts. The handle is movable as well as the antenna, and the
hinges allow to open it up to 180°. The fact that this Lego version
is in 1:1 scale would possibly allow you to host the necessary parts
to make it fully functional as the real one.
I really hope you
enjoy my creation!
