Radio Pirate Ship
A ship? What's a ship have to do with music?!?
In the 1960s, as rock music grew ever more popular in the UK and around the world, some mainstream radio networks refrained from broadcasting this new music. Thus, radio pirate ships were born. These radio pirate ships would anchor in international waters to let the DJs play what the people wanted.
This model of a radio pirate ship features of course a large radio tower and bridge on the upper deck, and below decks: the engine room, the common area, featuring an record album library and retro couch, and finally, the DJ booth where the magic happens! The bow of the ship contains a small marine head (that's a toilet in non-nautical terms!)
Enjoy this niche musical and historical symbol!
