Heavy Lunar Exploration Vehicle
The Heavy Lunar Exploration Vehicle (or H-LEV) is designed to carry astronauts and cargo across huge distances on the lunar surface. Its rugged design and wide wheelbase make it ideally suited to climbing over rocky, cratered terrain that would be too dangerous for astronauts to traverse on foot.
The rover's cabin is fully pressurized, allowing the two astronaut pilots to sit comfortably during the journey, even without their spacesuits. The elevated cockpit provides the astronauts with a wide view of the surrounding terrain, making navigation across the lunar surface much easier.
The H-LEV can act almost like a mobile base of operations, capable of days-long sorties away from the main base before returning to recharge and reload on supplies.
