Carpenter - Lego Automation

Carpentry is one of the oldest Engineering trades and uses natural materials such as wood/timber. This model showcases a carpenter cutting a wood/timber plank.

Build:

This model consists of a carpenter cutting a piece of wood/timber. When the gear is turned, the carpenter's hands move the wood/timber plank to and from the saw. This is illustrated in the images above.

The model contains various tools that you may find in a workshop such as a Vice, Pillar Drill and a variation of a Bevel Saw. The model also has smaller details such as wooden logs and planks placed around and also a red toolbox.

Mechanism:

The Mechanism used in this model consists of an axle, that when rotated moves a block horizontally back and forward, which intern, moves the carpenter's hands. The video below demonstrates the mechanism.
