Prototype Air Speeder
This is a kinetic sculpture that represents the future of STEM. The air speeder sways side to side over the water when the crank is turned, which makes it look like the speeder is sending up white sprays behind it. There are also two tires on the underside that keep the model from sliding around when in use. The parts count is 250 pieces, and it has removeable sides so that the gear mechanism inside can be seen. Here is a video of the air speeder moving: Video
I really enjoyed building this project because it is STEM oriented. It is a unique build because it represents where STEM could go in the future, and it's easily recognizable as a STEM model. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics are all represented in this build by the complex math and science concepts, as well as the specially engineered technology it would take to create a speeder like the one in this build.
