Rotational Fairground Ride
For this STEM competition I have created a fun rotational fairground ride, to allow 12 minifigs to enjoy the thrill of centrifugal forces as they spin around both horizontally and vertically as shown in the video.
The idea is loosely based on just two arms of an octopus ride in order to only use less than 250 pieces, but could easily be extended to four arms.
The physics is similar to a centrifuge used to train space astronauts.
Amazingly minifigs are able to cope with up to 90 degree rotation of the carts compared to humans where the carts stay level and the arms just lift up to 45 degrees!
