Scaling & Spelunking

I believe the best holiday is one we experience with nature; to step away from the hurly-burly of every day life and take in the wonders and beauty of the natural world. It was difficult to choose which aspect of an outdoorsy holiday to capture, so I decided to try and capture two different activities that allow one to appreciate both the fantastic heights and great depths with my model, "Scaling & Spelunking".

This model depicts a small mountain within the woods. The exterior of the of the mountain is littered with plant-life, has a steep, jagged cliff for our rock-climbing friend to conquer, as well as, a deck and torch marking the entrance for a mysterious grotto ready to be explored by our adventurous trail hiker. The mountain opens on a hinge joint and reveals a spacious cavern filled with rock formations, stalagmites, stalactites, sparkling precious gemstones, and even a little bat ready for company!
