E.V.C.S. (Education Voice Command Sensor)
My idea is for Lego to make a sensor that can record someone's voice command, and whenever it hears that voice command the robot could do a programmable task. This sensor could be either Mindstorms or Boost compatible with relatively simple programming software updates. The problem with the NXT sound sensor is that it only measures in decibels and decibels adjusted on a scale of 0-100, which does not allow for tone difference measurements. Because it can not read tones or patterns in sound it is impossible to have a voice command switch block.
With a voice reading sensor the creative possibilities would be nearly endless. You could program it to respond to commands like right, left, and forward. You could even have programs where you can tell the robot to collect items or start the dishwasher!
