Future Mars Explorer Spaceship
For the "Moon to Mars" building competition, I built a rocket that is short and wide, rather than the traditional tall and thin, because it would be launched from the moon and not Earth. The moon has a much weaker gravitational pull and an almost nonexistent atmosphere, so the rocket wouldn't need to be aerodynamic. The rocket has three boosters on it, which are halfway full of studs to represent liquid fuel. The boosters can be detached when they run out of fuel, leaving the main assembly to go on to Mars. The main rocket has two identical habitation modules on the outside for the passengers, as well as a small exploration craft that comes out of the "nose" of the ship. The third side of the rocket (the side without habitation pods) has dome assemblies that represent a future fusion reactor to power the ship, making solar panels unnecessary. With its combination of liquid fuel and fusion energy, it should be able to travel from the moon to Mars and beyond.
I hope y'all like it!
