Lunaris 1
Lunaris 1 - Fist of it's kind
The Lunaris spaceships will be assembled in Earths orbit. Once finished they will fly to the Moon's orbit for refueling and boarding by their crews for their journey to Mars - an back.
The overall layout of these ships is dominated by a truss structure providing enough connectivity for various equipments. Propulsion systems, energy supply, communications and the flight module are standard components. More habitable modules and scientific sensors may vary depending on the planned mission. Three supply ships can be docked.
Lunaris 1 is equipped with crew and science modules as well as two mission-module sections: These include a mars return vehicle and a payload module to be transferred to mars' surface each. The science module will be supported by a large sensor array for collecting data along the way. For handling of the payload modules a robotic arm is attached to the main truss structure. Additionally it carries a rover that can be parachuted to the ground.
