The Secret Life Of... Brick Separators in Training

An effective brick separator needs stamina, fitness, agility, speed and dedication. Wannabe separators are put through their paces at secret training facilities around the world. These rare images show the assault course at one such location. Here, new recruits demonstrate their range of separating skills under the watchful gaze of a veteran instructor.

This particular course features:

1x2 plate slalom (an easy start!)
1x1 tile sprint (here the best recruits can really make those tiles fly!)
Monkey bars (a test of removing plates from below. It's especially challenging as recruits need to retract their eyes and work by feel without ending up in the mud bath!)
The stepped wall (a real test of control as plates need to be removed one layer at a time to pass.)
Technic pins/axle push wall (precision use of their built in axle)

Recruits successfully completing the course in the allotted time become qualified separators and are sent out into the field to make a LEGO fan's life easier.
