Flora and Fauna: The River Otter

River Otters are so fascinating to watch, and enjoy playing and wrestling together, on land and in the water. This helps to develop their hunting skills.

This young River Otter is floating on his back enjoying a freshly caught fish, not far from the riverbank and bullrushes where he caught the fish. Once finished, he will return to foraging along the river bank looking for his next fish.

I love the playful nature of Otters and I love seeing Otters floating on their backs. I have tried to capture the relaxing moment after the Otter's successful hunt, where the Otter is able to enjoy his meal in the sparkling waters.
