Legolution
Main steps of the Lego evolution:
1958. The Lego brick as we know it today is created. The first set, Town Plan 1200, includes, for the first time, the new brick.
1962. The first functional wheel appears in the 400 accessory set. This set would reach 820,400 units sold in 1967.
1977. Lego launches the Expert Builder series with set 850. In 1984 they changed the name to the current Technic, although the designs and pieces remained the same.
1978. The first Lego minifigure as we know it today appears. Although Lego minifigures have existed since 1974, the final design would take three years, launching with set 600, which included a police minifigure.
2001. After a period of relative decline as a result of the emergence of video games, Lego succeeds with the Bionicle series, a narrative line of its own creation that will mean a resurgence of the brand that continues to rise today.
2011. Lego launches the set 21100 Shinkai 6500 Submarine as the first prototype of the Lego Ideas series.
