Retro Portable TV
Portable TVs were once cutting-edge — symbols of a time when tech was shrinking and becoming personal. Their instantly recognizable shape and aesthetic make them very good for a LEGO set.
Goal of my entry is to capture the iconic shape of a retro portable TV with typical attributes like chunky plastic casing with distinctive colour, rounded screen edge, speaker grille, wheel studs, knobs, rabbit-ear antennas and handle. Screen on the TV looks like it's turned off, but the model has a special feature, a drawer for your smartphone. Flip open the screen cover, slide your smartphone into the drawer and enjoy your favorite video or movie in nostalgic style, or build your own screen. This makes the model not only good for display but also for playing.
Functions:
working knobs for switching channels ( with shock absorber mechanism)
turning wheel studs (turn on/off, volume, tunning, brightness, contrast)
hinge handle and antennas
power cable.
Dimensions: 23,6 x 29,4 x 30,8 cm / 1484 pcs.
