Artist's Mannequin
This build is a LEGO tribute to the classic wooden artist’s mannequin—those simple, poseable figures artists use to study movement, anatomy, and form.
As a cartoonist, I’ve relied on mannequins for years to help me sketch everything from relaxed gestures to dynamic superhero poses. I wanted to recreate that familiar tool using LEGO bricks—something fun to build, but also genuinely useful.
The model features articulated joints for realistic movement, and a removable stand to support more ambitious poses. I tried to capture the clean lines and proportions of a traditional mannequin while offering the charm and creativity of LEGO. I found LEGO joints offer really strong articulation for posing.
I built it to combine two passions - drawing and building - and I think it would make a great LEGO set because it’s more than just a model. It’s a creative tool, a desk buddy, and a conversation piece, perfect for artists, students, or anyone who loves art builds.
