Krampus Goes Hunting

For this competition, I wanted to focus on the less-known sidekick to Jolly Saint Nick. Alpine Folklore tells of a horned demon called Krampus who accompanies Saint Nick as he delivers gifts. While Saint Nick gives out gifts, Krampus delivers punishments to the children who have been naughty.

The name Krampus came from the Bavarian word "krampn" which means dead or rotten, and the German word "kramp" which means claw. Because of these, I portrayed him as this skeletal demon with two massive horns, and great hands with six claws. One hand holds magical flames as he stares menacingly down. But he also put on some festive cheer with his Christmas coat!
I hope you enjoy this project!
