Celebrating Classics: Pirate Treasure Hunt!
As far as I can remember, I've always loved the Lego Pirate theme. Even though I was not born when Captain Red Beard and his crew first sailed the seven seas in 1989, I grew up with my brothers' collection which included many of the 80s and 90s pirate sets. Pirates, shark-infested waters, treasure hunts and, of course, naval combats, all of these filled up my days as a young kid. It was clear to me that I had to make a build to honour my favourite theme. I decided to build this small beach with the big red 'X' and dotted lines pointing to the hidden treasure, palm trees and coconuts, rock work, a monkey, a small rowboat and oars, Red Beard and his mates as well as the pesky bluecoats. I even included a partially hidden head statue that pays tribute to the Islanders subtheme. The overall build measures 54 x 23 studs. Let's hope the pirate crew can escape the imperials' ambush and run away with the treasure. Hope you like the build!
